Baby’s Sitting Up! Now What?

It’s been a long time since I have had a baby crawling around my house. Five years to be exact!

Baby Tucker can officially sit unassisted, and is starting to roll around the floor. He can even push up on his knees and rock back and forth. So it’s only a matter of time before he takes off and starts crawling! I recently realized that it was time to start baby proofing our house. Our girls are 5, 7, and 9, so we haven’t had to have a baby proof home for a while.

Baby boy is also starting to eat more foods, so we have been adding that into our routine. And he hasn’t gotten any teeth yet, so we are still teething like crazy.

There are a few things we needed for this season of baby’s life, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you today!

Baby Safety

These are my favorite type of outlet protector. They have an easy pop-out tab that makes it easier for adults to remove, and they also clip to your vacuum cord so they don’t get lost!

We just installed this retractable baby gate at the top of our stairs, and I love it even more than I thought I would! It has a sleek, modern design, and I love the way it looks! There is no gate swinging back and forth at the top of my stairs, so the gate can easily be left opened when necessary.

Feeding Baby

I love making homemade baby food for my little guy. It’s cheaper than the pre-made stuff, and you can decide what goes in it. (I like to add a little breastmilk into the pureed veggies for added nutrients!) I love using this tray to freeze Tucker’s food. I like that it has a lid that seals it in the freezer, and I can easily pop the cubes out and store them in a freezer bag. I also love that it’s really inexpensive!

There are a lot of expensive food processors on the market to make baby food, but this is my favorite one! And it’s less than $15! Here’s why I love it:

  1. You can puree baby food right at the table. So whatever veggies we are eating for dinner, we just put in the grinder, and it is easily turned into pureed baby food goodness in a matter of seconds!
  2. It’s easy to clean! There are few parts (unlike the big, expensive machines!), so it’s an easy clean up. I just throw them in the dishwasher. Couldn’t be more simple.
  3. It fits in the diaper bag! I have used this food grinder with all four of my children. I loved being able to take it to restaurants and use it at the table. It made it possible to feed baby pureed food from virtually anywhere.

Teething Baby

This teether toy is so much fun! I LOVE coffee. So when I saw this rattle/teether, I had to get it! The top of the cup is flexible, perfect for baby’s gums. Tucker loves that it’s a rattle and makes noise, and its also easy to hold. So cute!

These food grade silicone necklaces are made for mom to wear, but perfect for baby to chew! My little guy loves holding them while he is nursing, and chewing on them when I’m holding him. It’s also dishwasher safe.

This is such a fun stage! I love watching my little guy learn to move and start to explore. It’s also fun to watch him try new foods and different flavors. Each day there is a new adventure, and it’s so much fun watching him experience it all!

What are some items you just LOVE for your little one?
